sculptural Entrance to Børneby Øster, LYSHOLT, Ikast-Brande
An upright sculpture, carved and polished as a relief into a large slate plate, stands at the axis of the entrance, welcoming with a gesture – a greeting. The relief is double-sided, meeting at the paws and the tail breaking out of the stone. The reliefs transition from being two-dimensional to becoming physical and three-dimensional. The tail is large and cascading, like a positive force. By creating a sculptural entrance – one that becomes an integrated and architectural part of the place, the sculpture also serves a purpose. It will become an outward signal. The institution will meet external visitors – both students, parents, and staff – with a sculpture that revolves around an immediate experience, thereby opening up for a dialogue. The entrance thus creates a connection and a transition simultaneously. Dimensions: H: 2m, W: 2m, D: 0.13m
